PALLIATIVE CARE SERVICES

Hope Life International (HLI) established Palliative care in the Gambia as far back in 2004/2005 to care for terminate ill, the children and older people. It was established out of the concerned to provide care, pain relief and comfort measures for terminally ill patients so their death is unnecessarily painful and undignified.

We conducted first ever training in palliative care In 2009/2010, with German partner for doctors, nurses, social workers and other health care professional. The total of 45 and 53 health care professionals were trained respectively.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME

Hope Life International is blessed to have donors who give generously to specific projects. But there is a great need for sponsors who give regularly to cover general operational costs. Your monthly gift of $30 will sponsor a child, providing food, medical care, and a quality education.

Child sponsorship is one of the most impactful opportunities to provide a new future for the country of the Gambia. In the impoverished rural communities of Gambia things such as dirty water, lack of medical access, little to no food, and malnutrition are what rob these children of a healthy and hopeful future. These communities are in a battle against poverty, and often times the children suffer the most.

The Child Sponsorship Program not only meets the needs of the children and families in the surrounding communities, but also through the Paradise Children's Home on the campus of Hope Life. Children who have no family, or have been rescued from abusive home lives find a new home at Paradise. They now have access to quality education, nutritious meals, the love and care of a committed staff, biblical teaching and spiritual development, and the hope for a future free from the chains of poverty.
